This week we are learning about sundials.
Sundials are an ancient way of telling the time that also uses the weather.
They use shadows created by the sun. There is a stick or other object which stands in the centre to cast the shadow. It is called the gnomon. (You say no mon!)
As the shadow moves around the circle it points to the hour and that is how you tell the time.
