Welcome to our school website.
Carrick Primary School is a hive of activity and our website aims to give you a taster of our school life. We hope that you enjoy your visit and find our website informative and beneficial.
Carrick Primary School was established in 1935 and remains an intrinsic part of the local community in Lurgan. The school has well-established links with the local primary and post primary schools, the local churches, leisure centre, shops and community organisations. Parents are encouraged to take an active interest in their children’s progress by attending regular information sessions, overseeing homework and supporting our healthy eating and school uniform policies. We are both an Eco-School, a silver level Sustrans school and a Champion Forest School and we encourage our children to respect and look after the environment.
In our school, we recognise that the Nursery and Primary years are the most formative in your child’s life and so, we aim to create a positive, caring and child-centred environment in which your child will grow. We have recently opened a new Nurture Unit, funded by the Department of Education and welcomed the Education Minister, Peter Weir to the school in September 2020 to officially open our unit. We enjoy celebrating success at every level and are proud to showcase the wonderful strengths and talents of all our pupils. We promote a broad and balanced curriculum with learning that is active and engaging for each child’s individual development and encourage our pupils to enjoy challenges, develop resilience, embrace diversity, make lots of friends and treasure the memories they will make forever in our inclusive school environment.
Along with our school Facebook page, Carrick Primary School, Lurgan, ClassDojo App for parents and our text messaging service, our website is another useful tool for communication between school and home, providing key information on many aspects of school life.
We hope you enjoy browsing through our website. Please feel free to contact our school office with any further queries.
